The Inspiration
gem sent me this picture months ago and I just love it and wanted to work something similar.
The Sketch
The sketch came direct from the picture but I wanted it less busy and more tranquil so only put one ship in when it came to the sketch for the painting.
The Painting
I have learnt a new technique for making a water wash so decide Pirate's cove was the perfect picture to try it out on and I have to say I love the result. Thanks Frank Clark.

Wow, great minds, huh? The choice of blog names is purely coincidental, I'm sure. I've enjoyed reading about you and your art, especially the piece about consultants and vanity galleries. So, so true!!
